No model analyses the data
Claim: a case states that no language model analysed its data; a model may draft the prose, which a person reads before it counts.
- Grade: convention.
- Evidence: Ralph 2020, Case Study standard, which lists a model analysing the data as an antipattern. Where: review, strand A.
- Check:
case-analysis(exact): the Analysis section says no model analysed the data. Whether it is true is the maintainer's to confirm. - Reader styles: none particular to this genre yet; the reader-ergonomics styles hold.
What it asks
- The Analysis section says, in so many words, that no model analysed any data.
- Counts come from a program or from a person; prose may be drafted by a model.
- The maintainer reads the prose before it counts.
Why
- A model reading a log may report what it expects; the counts are the evidence and must not pass through that filter.
- The standard names the practice as an antipattern, and a case here is written by a model's sessions about their own day.
Limits
- The check sees the statement, not the practice; only a person can tell whether the statement is true.
- The antipattern is a convention of a standards committee, not a measured effect.
