# Topic > One template for a unit of writing, the topic, whose parts can be topics of the same template, read as a tree at every depth. It obeys the reader-ergonomics standard; three multivocal reviews (218 sources) give the evidence behind each of its rules. Each page's markdown source is served at the same path with a .md extension. This index is written by hand; AGENTS.md says to keep it in step. ## The topic - [Topic](https://tewf.github.io/reader-ergonomics-topic/shapes/topic.md): the base shape: title, summary, body, contents, see also, and the rules of derivation, depth and graph - [Shapes](https://tewf.github.io/reader-ergonomics-topic/shapes/README.md): how the four general shapes of reader-ergonomics, and six forms of the genre extensions, fit the topic - [Decisions](https://tewf.github.io/reader-ergonomics-topic/decisions/README.md): one record per choice that shapes the repository ## Evidence - [Evidence](https://tewf.github.io/reader-ergonomics-topic/evidence/README.md): the method the three reviews share, the second rater, the audit - [Information typing](https://tewf.github.io/reader-ergonomics-topic/evidence/information-typing/README.md): how a unit of writing is given a type derived from a base - [Progressive disclosure](https://tewf.github.io/reader-ergonomics-topic/evidence/progressive-disclosure/README.md): how a tree nested to any depth is shown to a reader - [Document model](https://tewf.github.io/reader-ergonomics-topic/evidence/document-model/README.md): how a unit that holds units of its own type is stored, reused and checked - [Bibliography](https://tewf.github.io/reader-ergonomics-topic/evidence/bibliography.md): every cited work, once ## Contributing - [Contributing](https://tewf.github.io/reader-ergonomics-topic/AGENTS.md): rules for changing this repository - [Standard](https://tewf.github.io/reader-ergonomics/standard.md): the reader-ergonomics card this repository obeys
